As a first time patient, I was impressed today. Enough to write this and say so here. My experience started with a warm welcome in reception and provided sufficient time to complete the necessay intake and health history docs, but not lose the day. I was then wisked thru a preliminary assessment by two nurses who record current state and vitals. Followed by a physical health and wellness assessment by a very professional and insightful doctor seasoned beyond his age. Each of them listened (imagine that), were thorough and caring. In all, I was attended by (3) medical staff before even meeting Dr Hernandez. I’ve only seen this speed and readiness at the Mayo Clinic.
White coats can raise your heart rate, just seeing them. But I found Dr Hernandez to be engaging, personable and a well educated physician who brings his Mexican culture and diversity to set you at ease. I opened up to that as a new patient, no stress. Now I’m off to complete some diagnostic tests before my next visit to the good doctor next week. Not next month or next year.
In closing, patient expectations continue to evolve as does medical technology and wellness science. Dr S seems engaged in his field and not complacent. Factor in English speaking for those of us still learning the language and our way around in beautiful Mexico and I say… Thank you sir.
