Dr. Salas has grown to be the preeminent cardiologist in the Guadalajara metropolitan area.
Dr. Salas returns to Chapala Med to direct our cardiology team. We will now offer Chemical stress tests in addition to the standard cardiac tests such as HOLTER monitors, echocardiography, ECGs and standard stress tests. He is a brilliant interventionalist and has shown great maturity since recently having to deal with his own health issues.

He received his training in Facial Plastic Surgery at the Dr. Ramirez Oropeza Facial Surgery Clinic in Puebla and with Dr. G Moreno in Monterrey in 2013. Dr. Sánchez trained in Rhinoplasty at the Oregon Health and Sciences University in 2014, and in Ear Surgery at the House Ear Institute, Los Angeles, California in 2017.

Dr. Ricardo Montoya is a general practitioner and recent graduate of the Universidad Lamar in Guadalajara.
Originally from Cananea Sonora his professional aspirations include surgery and orthopedics. This bright young doctor currently helps manage care of our patients in Guadalajara as well as at Chapala Med II in Riberas del Pilar.
Dr. David Contreras Espinosa

Dr. Contreras is Chapala Med’s Gerontology and Palliative Care Specialist. He is also part of the Pain Management team. He has more than 10 years experience in the management of pain and palliative care for adults and the elderly.
He completed postgraduate training in pain management and palliative care and his specialty in integrated adult medicine from the University of Guadalajara.
His training in interventional pain management was completed at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, the prestigious Autonomous University of Madrid, Grupo Quiron Madrid, Clinica Cemtro Madrid, the Salvador Zubirán National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition, and the European Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Treatment.
Dr. Contreras is certified by the Mexican Council of Certification in Family Medicine.
Dr. Rosa Marlene Sosa Quintero

Dr. Marlene Sosa is Chapala Med’s specialist in Oncological Radiology. She is an attending physician at the ISSTE Hospital Gomez Farias in Zapopan and at the COI (International Oncological Center) at hospital Puerta de Hierro Sur.
She specializes in Breast Cancer imaging as well as cancers of the head, neck, pelvis and of the prostate. She is a graduate of the Univ. of Guadalajara Medical School and completed her residency training at Mexico’s prestigious INCAN (National Institute of Cancer).
She is also involved in providing free breast and cancer screenings to patients who cannot afford to them.
