We are pleased to introduce the physicians in Chapala Med’s network. Each specialist has been vetted by Dr. Hernández and meets the highest ethical standards of best practices in medicine in Mexico and abroad. Specialists may see patients by special appointment at our offices in Ajijic but due to their high level of demand in Guadalajara, Dr. Hernández often refers patients to their own offices in Guadalajara. Dr. Jorge Arturo Barba Martín
Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Martín trained as a surgeon at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara. He completed his specialty in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes and holds a subspecialty in Arthroscopy and hip surgery.
He has held various senior positions, including Head of Trauma and Orthopedic Residents at the Miguel Hidalgo Specialty Hospital, and Head of Trauma and Orthopedic Services at the Regional General Hospital. He is Director of the Orthosport Guadalajara Clinic. Orthosport specializes in orthopedic trauma, sports medicine, joint surgery, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, and hip surgery.
Dr. Martín is a teacher of physiology and anatomy at the Universidad del Valle de México. He also offers his services at the Unidad Médica del Valle. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Federación Mexicana de Colegios de Ortopedia y Traumatologia, and the Colegio Médico de ortopedia de Jalisco.
