When a Vacation isn’t enough to give you that Youthful Glow: another reason for medical travel

Did you know that the skin is the body’s largest organ? It retains fluids preventing dehydration, inhibits microbes from penetrating the body therefore preventing infection, helps maintain an even body temperature, and assists in Vitamin D intake. Anything that irritates or inflames the skin can produce symptoms such as redness, swelling, burning, and itching. Although changes in skin color and texture may go away naturally, there are certain symptoms that are indicators of greater underlying problems.
When traveling to Mexico it is vital to take precautions regarding your skin. Many North Americans flock to the country to soak up the sun and do so without any sort of protection. If you notice any changes in your skin’s appearance during your time in Mexico stop by a local clinic and consult a physician. In addition, there are many facilities that offer free skin cancer screenings.
Many people who are on vacation or planning to be, have the hopes of regaining a youthful luster from their time off. A temporary lapse in stress can rejuvenate the skin, but this newfound illusion of youth is only temporary. When the inevitable return to everyday life occurs, and daily stressors begin to pile up again, that glow will bit my bit disappear. However, there are things that one can do in order to slow down the aging process.
Botox is a very popular cosmetic procedure that you can have done during your time abroad in Mexico if you wish to do so. This is a drug that is made from a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Which is the same toxin that produces Botulism. However, under the care of a qualified medical professional the amount of Botox injected into the skin will not be dangerous.
There are other Dermal fillers available such as Restylane and Juvederm that are similar to Botox. Restylane is most commonly used for lip enhancement and is used to diminish wrinkles around the nose, mouth, and forehead. Juvederm is also used to soften deep fold and wrinkles. It’s primary use is to remove “smile” lines.
Multiple treatments of Dermal fillers will be required in order to maintain a wrinkle-free complexion. Don’t hesitate to ask questions about what you can do to improve your skin at physician’s office during your stay in Mexico.
